(I believe being a part of the natural world, it is common to respond to nature with a deep emotional response. Though there are many emotions and responses one can experience from nature, I tend to focus on the emotions of calmness, serenity, peace and relaxation. Bringing these senses into the home only seems natural to me. Creating work that is inspired by wild life, flora and fauna that mimics these raw feelings, to me, seems inherent to create; bringing another natural characteristic attribute into our day to day living environments.)
Rachael presents her work at juried Craft and Fine art shows around the nation to fund her main project and company, Burning Branch Studios. B.B.S is a nonprofit Co-Op with the mission to “grow, learn, and heal through the arts. Bringing artists of three dimensional mediums (but not limited to) together under one roof to teach, collaborate, network and promote their work. Burning branch proceeds go to underfunded schools art programs, and is on its way to doing more. B.B.S is in the early stages of erecting an arts center on 61 acres in Stroudsburg PA.
Rachael has shown her work Nationally and Internationally (Tokyo, Japan. Bruges, Belgium) Has permanent installations at Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Received the beautiful Blooms award for innovative usage of materials. Received the Pilchuck school of glass Scholarship, and has been published as innovative artists of the month in her local community, She strives to continue to learn and grow.
