Regardless of your Age, Status, Title; your past actions, doubts, financial or criminal status, Recovery trumps it all! Recovery may seem scary, it can be. You may feel embarrassed, don’t be. You might feel defeated, good!
Recovery is what you make it. Sure, it can be all of those things mentioned and plenty more, but you can either use those thoughts and feelings as an excuse to continue your addiction or use them to fuel your recovery and journey to a much better life, and trust me, I know from experience. I am also in recovery and I love every moment of my life! Even when times are dark, I’m grateful because it would be alot worse if I was still in my addiction.
You are definitely not alone!
With light and love,

Refuge Recovery is a practice, a process, a set of tools, a treatment, and a path to healing addiction and the suffering caused by addiction. Sid was a radical psychologist and a spiritual revolutionary who later became kown as the Buddha and his practice, Buddhism. The Refuge Recovery program has adapted the core teachings of the Buddha as a treatment of addiction.

WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTION?
Social media addiction is the compulsive urge to access and engage with social media platforms at the expense of attending to other areas of your life. While adults are not immune to the urges of social media use, kids and teens are more susceptible because their neurological development is still progressing, particularly executive functioning and decision-making abilities. As a result, your child may find it more difficult to walk away from social media, even if they realize it isn’t good for them.
Teenagers who are addicted to social media often report:
Depression - Anxiety - Body dysmorphia -Eating disorders - Loneliness - The fear of missing out (FOMO) - Isolation - Low self-esteem - Jealousy - Worthlessness - Difficulty with personal relationships - Suicidal thoughts

WHAT IS PROCESS / BEHAVIORAL ADDICTIONS?
Addiction can occur in many forms. Often, it is assumed that physical dependence characterized by withdrawal symptoms is required in order for someone to be diagnosed with an addiction disorder, but the fact is that behavioral addiction can occur with all the negative consequences in a person’s life minus the physical issues faced by people who compulsively engage in drug and alcohol abuse.
