Burning Branch offers Alternative Art Therapy Program: Equilibrium Through Glass
Our goal; starting and supporting Alternative Art therapy programs in our local substance abuse recovery houses. As part of the E.T.G program, the studio (glassblowing) is utilized along with in house therapeutic sessions.
The studio is used to create and build social and verbal communication and connections for newly recovering people. The program also serves as a teaching tool for a new trade, skill, or hobbie to help replace unhealthy behaviors, Using the medium of glass as another form of communication.
Do you or any one you care for have a substance abuse and or unhealthy addictive issue? We're here to help.
You are more than welcome to reach out to us @ (215) 987-9715 or rachael.c.burningbranch@gmail.com with any questions.
Regardless of your Age, Status, Title; your past actions, doubts, financial or criminal status, Recovery trumps it all! Recovery may seem scary, it can be. You may feel embarrassed, don’t be. You might feel defeated, good!
Recovery is what you make it. Sure, it can be all of those things mentioned and plenty more, but you can either use those thoughts and feelings as an excuse to continue your addiction or use them to fuel your recovery and journey to a much better life, and trust me, I know from experience. I am also in recovery and I love every moment of my life! Even when times are dark, I’m grateful because it would be alot worse if I was still in my addiction.
You are definitely not alone!
With light and love,
Rachael Calderin

WHAT IS the Inner REFUGE RECOVERY?
Refuge Recovery is a practice, a process, a set of tools, a treatment, and a path to healing addiction and the suffering caused by addiction. The main inspiration and guiding philosophy for the Refuge Recovery program are the teachings of Siddhartha (Sid) Gautama, a man who lived in India twenty-five hundred years ago. Sid was a radical psychologist and a spiritual revolutionary who later became known as the Buddha and his practice, Buddhism. The Refuge Recovery program has adapted the core teachings of the Buddha as a treatment of addiction.
WHAT IS RECOVERY DHARMA?
Recovery Dharma is a community of peers that encourages Buddhist-based recovery to people suffering from all kinds of addictions, Incorporating Buddhist practices of wisdom, compassion, community, and meditation to help you heal and recover from the suffering addiction has caused.
Unlike other recovery programs, Refuge Recovery and Recovery Dharma is open to anyone suffering from any type of addictive behaviors and are looking to recover regardless of spiritual/ religious beliefs, principles and backgrounds.
Monday's from 8:00PM - 9:00PM at the Burning Branch Studio. Join us for the Inner Refuge Recovery Meeting. All are welcome.
WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICTION?
Social media addiction is the compulsive urge to access and engage with social media platforms at the expense of attending to other areas of your life. While adults are not immune to the urges of social media use, kids and teens are more susceptible because their neurological development is still progressing, particularly executive functioning and decision-making abilities. As a result, your child may find it more difficult to walk away from social media, even if they realize it isn’t good for them.
Teenagers who are addicted to social media often report:
Depression - Anxiety - Body dysmorphia -Eating disorders - Loneliness - The fear of missing out (FOMO) - Isolation - Low self-esteem - Jealousy - Worthlessness - Difficulty with personal relationships - Suicidal thoughts

WHAT IS PROCESS / BEHAVIORAL ADDICTIONS?
Addiction can occur in many forms. Often, it is assumed that physical dependence characterized by withdrawal symptoms is required in order for someone to be diagnosed with an addiction disorder, but the fact is that behavioral addiction can occur with all the negative consequences in a person’s life minus the physical issues faced by people who compulsively engage in drug and alcohol abuse.
