Help With Ash Handling
If you are uncomfortable handling ashes (very understandable) you can ask your local funeral home (or a friend) if they will do this step for you and/or prepare little baggies with the proper amount to included. Be sure to write your name and order number on the baggie when you ship.
Any of our infused products can use cremains from both pet and people.
How Much Ashes Are Needed?
1/2 teaspoon - any items up to 3"
1 teaspoon - 3.5"-4"
1 tablespoon - 4.5" and larger
Types of Ashes
All glass products can be infused with ash from both people and pets. We can combine ashes from multiple pets/people in one piece (mixing of ashes occurs on customer side.) Infused glass can only be mixed with cremains; hair and other organic matter will vaporize.
All Remaining Ashes Are Returned (added fee to return)
We return remaining ashes or we can release any extra ash (after we make the product if anything is left over). Please choose your selection at checkout what you prefer.
Do Memorials Have Flat Spots?
Every single memorial we make has a flat surface intended to sit anywhere safely. We never let a memorial leave our shop without testing it's stability first!
Can We Remove The Cremains?
No, once the cremains is mixed into the Spirit Piece, it is effectively part of the glass matrix. Even if the memorial were to break, be run over, ground up, etc it would still be very difficult to extract the cremains.
Are There Any Permissions Required To Use Ashes?
There are no specific laws or regulations regarding usage of cremains in art or jewelry. You will, of course, need the permission of the owner of the ashes.
How Shipping Works
Ideally cremains should be shipped to us USPS Priority Express as per the postal service regulations on shipping cremains; we'll accept shipments if they arrive to us otherwise.
Shipping Costs of Remains
We do not cover the cost of shipping the remains to us. If you are local, contact us to work out a drop-off time.
Shipping Timelines
Your remain artwork will be sent back in approximately 6 weeks once we get the ash tube, unless otherwise noted. The ash will appear as small light grey specks in the glass matrix along with occasional bubbles. If there is extra ash left over we can either scatter locally or return the ash to you via priority express mail as per your instruction (additional costs will apply.)
If the worse happens and the memorial breaks once received what happens?
For memorial pieces we offer a 30 day money-back warranty and/or replacement of the Spirit Piece with photographic evidence of breakage along with 50% coverage of the shipment.
I don't like how my art turned out, can I get my money back?
Unfortunately we don't offer refunds for artistic elements you may not like. These are handmade and there's always a degree of variability in how these come out. This includes differing patterns of how the color swirls, the presence (or absence) of bubbles or the exact size. We offer a discounted redo pricing if you would like to try again.
